Dr. Cynthia MacKenzie joined the AVMA Trust in 2017. She educates veterinarians and veterinary students nationwide about insurance options and risk management solutions. She also reviews veterinary malpractice claims across all species and provides guidance to veterinarians navigating challenging claim situations. Before joining the Trust, she held several industry positions and worked in private equine practice in San Juan Capistrano, California, and Lexington, Kentucky.
She earned her DVM from Texas A&M University and has held several leadership roles in organized veterinary medicine. She is a longstanding member of the American Association of Equine Practitioners, Texas Veterinary Medical Association, AVMA, and Christian Veterinary Mission (CVM). Through CVM, she has traveled to Nicaragua multiple times to teach sustainable agriculture and veterinary education to health care promoters in remote communities. She lives in McKinney, Texas, with her husband and their Borador dog, Delta.
Jessica Molina is a senior risk consultant specializing in veterinary risk management at HUB International. In this role, she collaborates with internal and external clients to reduce risks and improve operations. She has experience in safety education and oversight, risk assessment and management, staff training, human resources, and safety and regulatory compliance.
She has over 20 years of experience in the veterinary field. As a military spouse, she has spent her career relocating with the Navy and has held roles in a variety of veterinary practices around the United States, including hospital administrator, management services consultant, director of operations, and corporate regional operations advisor in companion animal, exotic, large animal, and mobile veterinary practices.
She is a certified veterinary practice manager and compassion fatigue professional. She also has certifications in human resources, risk management, and the human-animal bond. She received her bachelor s degree from the University of Missouri and is a member of the Veterinary Hospital Managers Association, Florida Veterinary Medical Association, and American Society of Safety Professionals.
