Dr. Christopher Doherty is assistant director for strategic business research and outreach at the AVMA. In this role he analyzes data about new and early career veterinarians, and works with the Veterinary Economics Division to translate research into tools, resources, and actionable items that veterinarians can utilize and implement in their practices and careers. He earned his veterinary degree from the Ontario Veterinary College and a master’s degree in business administration from McMaster University’s DeGroote School of Business. He also is a chartered business valuator. 



Richard Hayworth is a sales expert with more than 20 years of experience in the animal health industry. He joined Brakke Consulting in 2023, where he leverages his experience with top-tier organizations like Novartis Animal Heath, Virbac, Aratana Therapeutics, and Abaxis to advise clients on channel strategies, sales optimization, product placement, and marketing programs. He has worked as a sales and marketing consultant for various animal health companies since 2017, securing profitable partnerships with major corporate hospital groups, distributors, and e-retailers.
