Professional liability: Are you protected?
Professional liability insurance is essential to protect veterinary team members from malpractice claims and board complaints. In this session, learn about the various risks veterinary professionals face in daily practice, recommended insurance coverage for different roles, and preventive measures you can take to decrease the chance of facing a professional liability or board complaint. Dr. Jennifer Frey, a veterinarian with the AVMA Trust, also will share examples of closed claims.

Dr. Jennifer Frey earned her DVM from the University of Illinois and worked in small animal veterinary practice for 20 years. Her clinical experience ranges from general practice to emergency medicine and surgery, treating both small animals and exotics. In 2019 she joined the AVMA Trust, where she provides outreach and education about the Trust’s insurance programs. She also provides guidance and support to AVMA members facing malpractice or board complaints.
