Allergy anchor therapies: When, what, and how

Learn about symptomatic treatment options for atopy, including glucocorticoids, Atopica®, Apoquel, and Cytopoint®. Discover how to make the most of each option, and learn why they sometimes fail to perform and how to get them to work again. Explore dose adjustments, switching therapies, secondary infection control, and tips for ensuring compliance. This lecture originally was presented at AVMA Virtual Convention 2020 under the title “From steroids to Cytopoint®: When and how to use your allergy anchor therapies”.

Participants can expect to learn about:

  • Properties of the core atopy therapies, and when and how to use them
  • Case examples of atopic patients
  • How core therapies can fail and ways to overcome the failure
  • Setting realistic expectations for treatment
